Oh my heart. And these sweet voices! What a gift to be invited to welcome this sweet soul to this beautiful family. Even better, is having the experience of knowing this family from the VERY START! I filmed Mike and Crystal’s wedding years ago, then sweet Savannah’s first year, as well as John! To say I was THRILLED when Crystal contacted me to make a little film of welcoming Luke to his new family is an understatement. What I wouldn’t give to have something like this of my babies when they were little. With me in it!! There is just something about the movement, and the voices of both the little ones and Mom and Dad that is just priceless. Even the bit of chaos and busyness of the kids is beautiful. This family also got about 15 images from this short little shoot. Thank you Mike and Crystal for having me back!!!!
Introducing Family Films with a Fall Mini Session – October 24!
There is something about seeing a family in motion – hearing them interact together and listening to their voices. It is just like stopping time.
These are two very special families and I love every squeal and giggle, even every cry. You might recognize my talented photographer friend Adrienne, we have shot many beautiful weddings together. And of course one of my most favorite brides and grooms and their sweet little man have made many an appearance on my blog over the years. 🙂
We are offering mini-film sessions in Kansas City in a few weeks – stay tuned for the sign up – they will go FAST! Please email (maura@creativefilmskc.com) to get on the calendar. Sessions will be $800 – special discount to former bridal and portrait clients! (we will not be offering super8 film during these mini-sessions)
Family Films are BACK! Baby Luke and Mom and Dad! Super8 Film
Oh boy – there is nothing like the sounds of baby babble. I really truly cherish this sound. I didn’t make enough videos of my own kids when they were little. At least I didn’t make “good” ones. I did the normal shaky handheld camcorder recordings and they are still amazing and precious, but I wish I had something like this with my husband and I actually interacting with our kids when they were tiny AND growing up. Take a minute to join Luke and his family for a few sweet moments this spring at The Nelson-Atkins. Sweet and simple moments like these are so fleeting. Everyone always told me that when the kids were little. I never believed them because the days felt so long. But they were right. It goes way too fast.
