Kansas City Wedding Venue Blog Series โ€“ The Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art

May 24

It is no secret that I adore the Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art. This goes WAY back to my childhood taking classes in the summer and then continued as I completed my Master’s Thesis for Art Museum Education from KU working closely with the education department at the Nelson. I always figured I would somehow do work at this beautiful space, and although it has turned out to be a little bit different than I had imagined when I was studying for my Masters Degree, I really DO get to work in this beautiful space every year! What an amazing place to have a wedding. Kali and Adam love this iconic Kansas City space too and when they contacted me to film their wedding here I was beyond thrilled to help them. They were one of the first couples to have their wedding ceremony on the grounds of the Nelson and it was perfect! The reception in this beautiful space was stunning and their guests had a wonderful time!

Here is a little highlight featuring this amazing space and this sweet couple. Make sure you check out the interview below from the Event Planning Team over at the museum! This wedding is featured in the Summer 2017 issue of The Knot – so you will have to check that out on your newsstand.

Tell us a little bit about the Nelson-Atkins.

The Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art opened to the public on December 11, 1933. Located east of the plaza, the museum is known for its neoclassical architecture. The Nelson-Atkins was voted best U.S. Museum, based on Yelp Reviews. For a further description, come visit the museum as it is free to the public!

Bourgmont Vineyard – Simple Elegance Styled Shoot – Kansas City Weddings

May 9

When Kindra approached me to shoot this styled shoot in a new venue and vineyard in Kansas City I jumped on the opportunity. Bourgmont Vineyard is beautiful and will be even more stunning once the grapes begin to mature. They offer a beautiful and spacious home for the family to get ready in and the renovated stable is stunning and can hold 350. There is a lovely pond and gardens for an outdoor ceremony and I could just imagine a sweet couple saying their vows on this sprawling estate. It was raining the day of the shoot, but we had a break in the weather long enough to get some great shots outside!
Make sure you check out May’s issue of Johnson County Lifestyle Magazine. They featured Kindra and her amazing work with Simple Elegance and a rockstar team of KC professionals!

Glamorous New Years Eve Greek wedding – Kansas City Wedding Video – Sneak Peek Trailer

Jan 7

Wow – what a way to end 2016 and start 2017 with this beautiful couple and their family and friends. I don’t want their amazing story to get lost in the glamour and stunning details of their day because it is one of the sweetest stories I have heard. They met in Junior High and grew up together in the Greek Church. There is so much more to their story that you will have to wait for the highlight to hear/see. This day was FULL of meaningful moments of family and friends and sharing of history and tradition, from the locket with Marina’s grandparents photos that was brought from Greece to the wonderful dancing that filled the Intercontinental Ballroom all night long! This was the 5th wedding that we have shot for this large family and we are truly honored to be asked back to preserve this day for Marina and Conner.

The Brass on Baltimore – Jillian & Brent – Kansas City Wedding Videography

Apr 22

Jillian and Brent had the most romantic Spring wedding in Kansas City that I have had the honor to preserve. The blooming trees at Loose Park, the stunning ceremony at the newly renovated Brass on Baltimore and that sweet puppy Sadie. I don’t think we could have had a sweeter day. So hard to just make this sneak peek film, I can hardly wait for their feature film!
