A special anniversary wedding film

I don’t do this very often because I can hardly keep up with my own anniversary, but every once in a while I like to remake a wedding film as a little first anniversary present. Michael and Nicole had the most beautiful wedding last December at Barnsley Gardens Resort, just North of Atlanta. I was so honored that they flew me up to be part of their wedding day with guests and family from all over the world. Nicole and Michael met in France and currently live in London so they have friends from all over the place. Their wedding was lovely and the touch of super8 film that we included was perfect for their day.

POSH Filmmakers Retreat – 2011

Well, I have fallen behind on blogging. This has been one of the busiest fall seasons I have had, and I am grateful. We are close to finishing up the 2011 wedding film season with one more wedding right before New Years and have a couple more portraits on the calendar. I have so many blog posts to share with you and wonderful families to introduce you to!

But today I am going to share my latest POSH retreat with you. I was lucky enough to get to travel to Mexico a couple weeks ago with an amazing group of women filmmakers and business owners. This is my second year to participate in POSH and I came away just as inspired and renewed as the first time! Mexico was gorgeous and I was so excited to get to explore that country a tiny bit, but the new relationships and connections and inspiration that I took home with me is so valuable.

I will share with you the film we created last year at POSH, and a little shot I took from the balcony in my room – see you next year ladies!

We are wrapping this year up with some amazing weddings! Kim and Chris’ wedding was so beautiful and I was so honored to be asked to come back to film for this family. I filmed Kim’s sisters wedding a few years ago and it was so great to see them all again! This was a beautiful day and Kim and Chris took advantage of everything Kansas City has to offer. The ceremony at Redemptorist Church was stunning and the reception at Bartle Hall was just amazing. I loved the view looking out over the new Kauffman Center. This is just a tiny taste of what is to come in their short film – It is going to be hard to wait on this one!

We have had one beautiful wedding after another and another and another this fall. I love fall, and I love our couples! These guys were just adorable and had so much sweet chemistry and were just so fun together! AND – I think this is the first time I have seen a Priest “choke up”! So special and sweet. Oh my goodness. This day was simply amazing. It was difficult to make a sneak peek for this wedding because I can’t share with you so much of their day! You will have to check back in a few months for the full film to see the knife dance, tap dancing, mariachi band and amazing party! I think the thing that makes this wedding so special is how much the families put into it and how each culture was so beautifully represented. Enjoy the sneak peek, and come back for the film soon!
