Do you want a wedding video?

May 18

As I mentally prepare for three weddings and a rehearsal dinner over Memorial Day weekend this year, it seems to be a perfect time to reflect on wedding video. A wedding videographer friend of mine in Boston inspired me to ask a few of my former couples what they valued about their wedding video. It was a very humbling experience to hear their kind words and really overwhelming to learn how the value of their wedding film has increased after the wedding day. The overarching thing that every couple said was that they would never consider skipping it or skimping on a quality film. We see this in wedding magazines and blogs, but to hear it from actual couples is pretty wonderful. There really is something about the combination of visual moments and the SOUNDS of the wedding day that make wedding video so powerful. It is one of the only things that lasts after the wedding is over and is the record of a new family being born.

Watch for yourself!

Big thank you to Becca and Jon, Emily and Ben, Melissa and Michael and Mallory and Casey! You guys are awesome!

Mary and JW – Sneak Peek Wedding Trailer – Kansas City Wedding Videography

May 13

Oh my goodness. These two are the sweetest pair! So much joy on their faces and everyone around them – it was the most beautiful wedding day. Mary planned every last detail with the help of Christine with Celebrations of Love and truly had her dream wedding. Our Lady of Sorrows looked like a painting with the soft pink next to the ornate alter and marble and I don’t think Dark Horse Distillery has ever looked so amazing. And that bridal gown! Breathtaking! This little trailer will have to hold you until the highlight wedding film is released! It will be stunning!

Ian and Jill – Kansas City Wedding Videography – Highlight Video

Apr 4

You just have to love a couple who has their “fur-baby” as a ring bearer. Jill and Ian were such a pleasure to work with on their wedding day and had so many beautiful details that Kelley Ruf and Trapp Floral created for them. Not to mention an intimate ceremony at the most charming little chapel and AMAZING reception at my favorite Kansas City venue, The Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art. But I think the thing that I loved about this day the most was watching these two celebrate their long road to becoming a family. They have known each other since they were children and just watching them together and with their families it is clear they are meant to be together and will have a long happy life together. Plus, they had their fur-babies at their wedding! You really can’t beat that!

Slowmotion Video Booth – Feature on Rangefinder Magazine!

Jan 20

Now this is pretty cool. I got a call out of the blue a few months back from a writer at Rangefinder Magazine. For those of you who don’t read photography magazines, this is a good one. She was interested in my slow-motion video booth and we had a great conversation about it. Fast forward January, and I had a few minutes to run into Barnes and Noble with Lily to see if the article was in the magazine. IT WAS! With my screen shot image as the main image – and some great quotes too! So exciting and pretty amazing really. Big thank you to my sweet couple and all their guests for looking SO AMAZING in their slow motion video booth at their wedding. It really is just SO FUN. And you must check out the full spread of the article in Rangefinder. Just. So. Cool!
